Savej returns to Gravitas Recordings on August 4th with a new single leading into his huge upcoming album. This track is one of a collection of Yawanaw medicine songs that Savej recorded the vocals for with Ronnã Yawa of the Yawanawa tribe from the Brazilian Amazon. All proceeds from this single will be donated to a non-profit with the intention of raising money to acquire solar panels for their village, Yawarani. They are working on a full Yawanawa with all proceeds supporting this same cause.
“Wacomaya is a magical song that has the power to instantly lift the listener’s mood and connect them with the Earth; it is a great honor to be entrusted by the Yawanawa to create and Ancient Future rendition of it” – Savej
“Wacomaya is a traditional Yawanawa medicine song originating in the Brazilian Amazon. The Yawanawa music carries a signature vibration of sacred celebration through prayer and movement. After recording these vocals and being entrusted to create Ancient Future electronic-infused renditions of their medicine songs, I teamed up with my good friend Liquid Bloom for this single. In the Yawanawa villages, these songs are sung around a fire with energy that rotates from a slow prayer to high-energy fire dance vibes. Their music is sure to get people moving while also feeling connected to nature on new levels.” – Savej
