Soulacybin brings an energetic “Bug Eyes” EP to Gravitas Recordings August 30th full of his glitchy sound design and heavy bass.  John LaBoone (Soulacybin) has been a pivotal figure in the bass music world for years, and this release polishes his sound to the next level and focuses into his signature style. He has rocked legendary festival stages all around the world, and has upcoming festival plays throughout the United States this summer and fall to share this new music with the dance floor.  Vibrant melodies peak through the gritty bass for a journey filling the full audio spectrum, all over funky grooves that get the listener moving.  This release will perk the ears of any sound design connoisseur and please any bass music fan looking for something fresh.  Join us for a wild ride…

“The ‘Bug Eyes’ EP channels my energetic and intricate sound into a more polished and focused form. Heavy and gritty, vibrant and funky, this EP showcases adventurous compositions rich with glitchy textures and skillfully crafted bass. ” – Soulacybin

‘Bug Eyes’ opens the EP with a stabbing synth melody and quickly drops into a funky drop full of textured bass and glitchy sound design and melodies.  This one is impossible not to bounce your head to and starts the EP off to an epic start.  ‘Full Up’ keeps the energy going with a catchy rhythm and deep bass, slowly adding in heavier sound design and gritty bass with constant switchups and new ideas.  ‘Boomslang’ closes the EP with a fresh new idea, slightly lower energy and incorporating vibrant vocal chops for a beautiful switch-up.  It still captures his energetic sound but in a different fresh new way, and we could see this track being a perfect closing track for his sets.

Soulacybin’s “Bug Eyes” EP is exactly the fresh feel and top-tier production Gravitas is always looking for, and it’s a perfect welcome back from his “Stazi” album in 2015 with Gravitas. This release leaves us wanting more in the best way possible, and we can’t wait to hear what this talented artist shares next!
