Sounduo is a future-dub, audio/visual live performance project. Their sound is a uniquely captivating blend of poly-rhythmic grooves, vintage samples, soulful vocals, ambient soundscapes, and heavy synth bass passed through a ethereal dub filter and mangled using the latest in glitch technology. Their sound has been described as what a studio jam session may sound like between Flying Lotus and Lee Scratch Perry’, or the musical love child of the Tribal Seeds, Amp Live and Daft Punk. Every time Sounduo walks on stage, they create live remixes and dub versions of their studio tracks by using live instruments, a custom Ableton live rig, plenty of improvisation, and a synced 3-D visual and lighting show which gives each audience an experience unique to the moment.
Sounduo has been showcasing their musical abilities throughout the country. Whether embarking on multiple tours spanning the entire east coast, sharing stages with artists such as Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, and Ill Gates, releasing remixes and originals under established labels like Ultra, Smog, Easy-Star, and Made in Glitch, or performing at some of the Southeast’s hottest music festivals (Blackwater, Aura, Ultra, Impulse, Art Basel), Sounduo is pushing the boundaries of live electronic music, and redefining what is possible when performing electronic music. They are poised to conquer the national arena.
"When they play live, they use instrumentation, adding a different dimension to the electronic elements. Morillo gets on drums and Mills plays keyboards or guitar. What sets them apart from other acts is simple. "We're kind of approaching it from a musician's standpoint where when we make our tracks, we play a lot of our instruments." Morillo reflects, "Will's an amazing guitarist, and jazz guitarist and he has an extensive knowledge of harmony and chords. I think that might help us stand out, just because we have that experience.""-- Broward Palm Beach
